Dr Sayed Elhoushy is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Marketing at the School of Business and Management, Queen Mary University of London. His research sits at the intersection of sustainability, marketing, and technology, focusing on how consumers can be motivated and supported to adopt more sustainable practices with real social impact.

His work addresses issues such as sustainable food systems and food waste reduction, contributing to debates linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This research has been recognised with the HSS Commendation for Early Career Researcher Award and the Queen Mary Education Excellence Award (2025).

He has published in leading international peer-reviewed journals including the International Journal of Consumer Studies, Journal of Consumer Behaviour, International Journal of Hospitality Management, and Journal of Sustainable Tourism, and collaborates with researchers from universities in the UK, Europe, and the US.

Dr Elhoushy holds a PhD in Management (Business Economics) from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, alongside an MSc in Hospitality Management and an MRes in Management. Before joining Queen Mary, he held teaching / visiting positions at institutions including the University of Surrey, Alexandria University, and the University of Porto, and brings industry experience in marketing, and consultancy.
