Dr Savindi Caldera is a Lecturer in Environmental Management at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Her research advances sustainable transformation in construction and manufacturing through innovative lean, green and circular economy strategies. With over a decade of industry‑engaged research experience and more than $4 million in funding, she has partnered widely with government and industry to address challenges in waste management, sustainable production, housing and infrastructure.
She is a recipient of several prestigious early-mid career academic awards, including the Inspector-General of Emergency Management International Women's Day Award (Excellence in Research) 2023, Griffith Highly Commended Award for Excellence in Teaching 2020, Griffith University Outstanding Contribution to Teaching Award for Best Sessional Teaching 2019 and 2018 and QUT Vice-Chancellor’s Performance Award 2017. She is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy. She is also serving as an Associate Editor in the Journal of Australasian Environmental Management.
