Sasha has a broad background in scientific research; she obtained a BSc in Natural Sciences from the University of Birmingham, a MSc in Reproductive and Developmental Biology from Imperial College London, and a PhD in Medicine from the University of Bristol. She went on to undertake postdoctoral research in Parkinson’s Disease at Harvard Medical School (2015-2016), and in retinal development/disease at University College London (2016-2019). She has also held a position as Teaching Fellow for the Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health course and Applied Neuroscience program at King’s College London since 2016.

Despite a background focused on human biology, Sasha moved into socio-environmental science in response to the climate and biodiversity challenges. Sasha now leads the Science and Policy team at the Earthwatch Institute (Europe) independent research organisation, ensuring work is scientifically rigorous and focused on the problem.
