I was trained and worked as an engineer, and hold an Ontario Professional Engineering License. I left consulting engineering to be a professional runner for Team Canada, I completed a PhD in Civil Engineering at the University of Toronto in 2019. Alongside this I completed the Advanced Coaching Diploma from the Coaching Association of Canada and now work as a coach mentor for the program.

Upon graduating from my PhD I worked first as a sessional lecturer and then as an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream in Engineering and Engineering Science at the University of Toronto. I am now a research associate in the the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education. My research and applied work focus on gender equity in sport, athlete well-being, and evidence-based coaching practices.
