Sarah is an experienced qualitative researcher using phenomenology, participatory, and mixed methods research with vulnerable communities, and specialist provision. Sarah's subject expertise is Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (VAWDASV). She co-founded and co-chairs the VAWDASV Research Network Wales (launched in 2021), which has over 280 members including survivors, specialist and non-specialist organisations, academia, and policy. Sarah previously worked within the sector, where she trained as Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA).
Sarah has led and supported numerous collaborative VAWDASV research and evaluation studies, including projects to co-develop several recovery programmes for those affected by abuse including women, men, and LGBTQ+ individuals, a multi-agency framework for culturally and ethnically diverse women, and a stalking provision.
Sarah’s associated research interests and strengths span across health and social care. Her work has included research with service users, carers and families, the social care workforce, and evaluating social prescribing interventions.
