Sarah Munoz est docteure en science politique (Université de Montréal) et spécialiste des questions d’adaptation climatique. Ses recherches explorent les obstacles institutionnels et sociopolitiques à l’adaptation équitable et ses effets sur les mobilités climatiques. Elle est actuellement chercheuse postdoctorale au Réseau Inondations InterSectoriel du Québec (RIISQ - UQAM) et travaille sur la mobilisation des connaissances pour les décideurs politiques. En parallèle, elle coordonne également un projet de préparation locale aux urgences climatiques à la Coalition montréalaise des tables de quartier (CMTQ), en partenariat avec la Direction régionale de santé publique, le Centre de sécurité civile et la Fondation Trottier. Elle a publié de la recherche sur les « réfugiés climatiques » et prépare actuellement un livre sur les politiques d’adaptation en Louisiane.
Sarah Munoz holds a PhD in Political Science (Université de Montréal) and specializes in climate change adaptation. Her research explores the institutional and sociopolitical challenges to equitable adaptation and climate-induced migration. She is a postdoctoral fellow at the Intersectoral Flood Network of Québec (RIISQ - UQAM) and works of knowledge dissemination for policymakers. She is also coordinating a local climate emergency preparedness project at the Montreal Coalition of Neighbourhood Round Tables (CMTQ), in partnership with the Regional Public Health Directorate, the Civil Security Centre, and the Trottier Foundation. She has published research on “climate refugees” and is currently writing a book on the politics of adaptation in Southeast Louisiana.
