• PhD Candidate, Climate Change and Education, Department for Education, University of York

I am currently a doctoral researcher at the University of York, department for Education. My research is funded by the British Educational Research Association (BERA). The purpose of my research is to investigate different expert perspectives around concepts for climate change in secondary science education. I am particularly interested in the level of consensus amongst experts (climate scientists, science teachers and youth climate activists) around these concepts.

Prior to starting my research, I trained as a secondary science teacher through the Teach First Leadership Development Program. I taught science for 9 years, at both KS3, KS4 and KS5 (biology and chemistry) and held a number of middle leadership positions.

Outside of my PhD research, I facilitate workshops around the climate and nature crisis and have worked to re-align my life around the poly crisis. I have also recently held the position of secretatiat for the Education, Work and Skills Group as part of the Wales Net Zero 2035 Challenge group.
