Sara Nowakowski, PhD

Sara Nowakowski, PhD, CBSM, DBSM is an Associate Professor and Psychologist at Baylor College of Medicine and who treats patients with insomnia and other sleep disorders at the Baylor Sleep Medicine Clinic. She also conducts research on sleep, aging and women’s health. Dr. Nowakowski completed two randomized clinical trials examining a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) intervention for insomnia and nighttime hot flashes in midlife women and CBT for insomnia on patients recovering from hip or knee replacement surgery. She has over 50 peer-reviewed publications and a book for providers on adapting CBT-I (publisher Elsevier). She is passionate about public outreach and patient advocacy for sleep and women's health.
