A senior academic at Auckland University of Technology (AUT) teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate health sciences. Research interests centre on the social aspects of ageing and ensuring communities are inclusive and appropriate places for older people to live well. Has been involved in age-friendly research since 2015. Her PhD focused on rural age-friendliness. Continues to undertake research and publish in the area of ageing and age-friendly communities. A member of the AUT Active Ageing Research Centre where age friendly communities is a priority research focus.
