I am a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Brighton with a specialism in Biological Psychology and Cognitive Psychology. Although, I teach on a wide range of psychological subjects, including research methods, and supervise dissertation students in various psychology fields. I have over 12 years' experience of conducting research into people living with dementia, especially their memory for everyday activities. I've also researched attitudes towards dementia in a group of dementia caregivers in Pakistan. I've studied how loneliness and social networks affect cognition in people living with dementia. More recently, I've investigated how people living with dementia of the Alzheimer-type sleep and how that relates to next day performance.
I am a chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), making me a chartered psychologist (CPsychol) in the Division of Academic Research and Teaching. I gained a PhD in Psychology from the University of Sussex in 2015. I have a MSc in Health Psychology and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. I also have fellowship status with the Higher Education Authority (FHEA).
