Sami Falkenstein

I am a recent graduate of the Master’s Degree in Sociology at the University of Guelph. My research explores the intersections of gender, power, work, and inequality, with a particular focus on sexual and gender-based violence and institutional power. In my thesis, Navigating Gendered Academia: The Lived Experiences of Women Faculty Members at the University of Guelph, I examine how women in academia navigate gendered norms and expectations within academic institutions. I recently co-authored an article on the impact of the #MeToo movement on news media representations of sexual violence in Canada.
