- Researcher, The Norwegian Institute for Nature Research
I am currently working as a researcher at the Norsk Institutt for Natur Forskning in Oslo, Norway. From 2016-2019, I was employed as a research assistant at the Plant Conservation Unit at the University of Cape Town to coordinate the rePhotoSA project (http://rephotosa.adu.org.za/). Previously I worked as a junior environmental consultant for approximately 2.5 years (I joined Synergistics Environmental Services (Pty) Ltd (now SLR Consulting) in November 2012). My experience was largely with respect to projects related to water and waste management in South Africa; however I also gained experience on projects in Namibia particularly mining and an electrical substation expansion. These projects included several S24G's for rectification, waste management licence and water use licence applications, basic assessments and S&EIRs for environmental authorisation, and environmental management programmes. I obtained a Master’s degree from the University of the Witwatersrand on the foraging ecology of birds in the Mist Belt Mixed Podocarpus Forests of South Africa.
