I am a Lecturer in Electrical Power Systems at the University of Leeds, specialising in renewable energy, the just transition, energy security, and sustainable electrical engineering. My work focuses on how energy systems operate in practice, with particular emphasis on the interaction between emerging technologies and existing infrastructure.

My research centres on the sustainability of emerging renewable energy solutions, especially decentralised systems such as small-scale solar, and how they integrate within wider electricity networks. I examine not only their technical performance, but also how everyday usage patterns shape their effectiveness.

I take a systems-level approach to understanding energy in practice, combining technical insight with real-world context to address the challenges of transitioning to low-carbon energy systems. Alongside this, I have a strong commitment to inclusive engineering education, focusing on fostering student success, belonging, and diversity within the field.

Through both my research and teaching, I aim to equip the next generation of engineers with the skills and critical perspective needed to design, implement, and manage sustainable and equitable energy systems.
