Legal academic with expertise in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice, especially road traffic offences. PhD on the subject of criminal charges resulting from fatal road traffic collisions. Has also conducted empirical studies of murder and manslaughter cases, as well as less serious road traffic offences. Has conducted evaluations of sentencing guidelines on sex offences and robbery for the Ministry of Justice. Is a member of the Roads Policing Academic Network (RPAN).
Contributor to Blackstone's Criminal Practice (Part C) and author of the textbook Clarkson and Keating: Criminal Law.
