Saheli Datta Burton

I'm a Research Fellow at the Department Science, Technology, Engineering and Public Policy (Steapp), University College London.

I am the Principal Investigator for the EPSRC funded PETRAS project Building Evidence for Code of Practice Legislation (BECL) working with the user-partner UK Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. I'm also a Visiting Research Fellow at the Department of Politics, University of Vienna (2017 - present); Newton Fellow, Indian Institute of Science, India (2015), and Editor of Science & Technology Studies, journal of the European Association for the Study of Science and Technology (EASST) (2018 - present). Before joining UCL, I was a Research Associate at the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine, King’s College London. I holds a PhD and MSc from the Faculty of Social Science and Public Policy at King’s College London and a BA in Economics from Columbia University, USA.

I'm interested in the socioethical and international political economic issues of emerging digital technologies with a focus on cell, gene, data-driven and 'connected' health technologies.
