Saheed Balogun Amusa

Saheed Balogun Amusa is Professor of History at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Nigeria, where he teaches courses in Nigerian social and political history. His doctoral thesis is titled “Policing and the Decolonisation Process in Nigeria, 1945-1966”. He has about two decades of university teaching, research and service experience and has attended academic gatherings within and outside Nigeria. He has published articles in reputable journals such as History in Africa, Nigeria Police Academy Historical Review, Journal of Historical Society of Nigeria, among others.

He is Recipient of the 2015 African–German Network of Excellence in Science (AGNES) Grant for Junior Researchers. He is a member of the Historical Society of Nigeria, the International Research Network on AIDS and Religion in Africa and the International Society for Studies in Oral Traditions.
