Ruth has a background in sociology with a focus on women and the labour market. She holds an undergraduate degree in music from the University of Queensland, a master's degree in social research methods from the Australian National University, and a Master of Philosophy in sociology from the University of Queensland. Ruth's research primarily focusses on within couple earnings arrangements. Her policy interests are women and work, gender equality, the gender pay gap, evaluation methods, and translating research into evidence-based policy. Ruth also works for the Australian Government.
