Ruggiero Lovreglio

I am a Professor in Digital Construction and Fire Engineering at Massey University (NZ) and a Rutherford Discovery Fellow for Royal Society Te Apārangi (NZ).​ My research and teaching focus on human on human behavior in disasters, evacuation modelling/simulations and safety training using emerging technologies: VR. AR and BIM. I hold a PhD in Civil Engineering from the joint PhD School of Politecnico di Bari, Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino. My research focuses on XR application for safety training and human behaviour in disasters.
I have published over 150 papers, 90 of them peer-reviewed journal articles. I am an Associate Editor for Safety Science (Elsevier) and Fire Technology (Springer). He was awarded by SFPE with the 5 under 35 award and the 2020 Massey Research Medal.
