- PhD candidate, University of California, Berkeley
I am currently enrolled in the Neuroscience PhD programme at Berkeley, where I am exploring my interests in computational neuroscience and brain-machine interfaces. Linking the mechanisms of the brain with the mysteries of the mind is, I believe, the key to furthering human understanding and intellectual maturity; and the activity I find most satisfying. Two of the most promising methods for doing so are by examining the function of large-scale neuronal ensembles using principles derived from applied mathematics, including engineering and computer science, and developing technology that directly interacts with the brain.
Over my previous education, I have systematically explored science, neuroscience, and medicine, aiming to establish solid foundational comprehension of the philosophy and practicality of science in its theory, methodology, and application. This has included research experience at all levels, teaching, clinical practice, and engagement with the philosophical, scientific, and popular literatures.
