Roshaya Rodness

I received my PhD from McMaster University in 2018 in the Department of English & Cultural Studies. My research looks specifically to the history of queer film and visual culture to explore radical and promissory forms of social being that are unexpectedly revealed by the film camera’s unique perceptive qualities. As a Sessional Instructor at the University of Toronto's Cinema Studies Institute I teach a variety of courses on film genres and communities of practice. My work has appeared in several journals, including Canadian Literature, Chiasma: A Site For Thought, World Picture, New Centennial Review, Criticism, the Journal of Interdisciplinary Voice Studies, The Conversation, and Salon.com.
