Rosey Billington is a postgraduate researcher in linguistics at the University of Melbourne, and a research affiliate at the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Dynamics of Language.
Her main research area is the intersection of experimental phonetics and language documentation, with a particular interest in languages of Africa, Australia and the Pacific. Her current research is on the sound system of Lopit, an Eastern Nilotic language of South Sudan, and previous research has focused on variation in Australian English.
Rosey has also been involved in developing the Linguistics Roadshow, an educational and engagement program for high-school students which began in 2015.
