Rose Gann

(she/her)

I am a professor of Politics Education at Nottingham Trent University. My educational research interests include the politics curriculum (both in Higher and Secondary Education); embedding skills and internationalising the curriculum; feminist pedagogies; education-focus careers in HE; and inclusive models of scholarship. I am a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Chair of the Political Studies Association of the UK.

Alongside my educational research and leadership role with the Political Studies Association, I provide leadership for scholarship across the School of Social Sciences at NTU and teach on a range of provision in the areas of political ideas and feminist theory as well as providing dissertation supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Prior to this, I have had extensive experience of leadership and management of academic teams as a Head of Department (2004-2022) - most recently as Head of Department of Social and Political Sciences at NTU - This experience includes successful management and recruitment of academic staff, leadership of undergraduate and post-graduate provision in Politics, International Relations and Sociology as well as ensuring the successful delivery of university strategic objectives. I also have experience of providing academic leadership for Internationalisation across a large School of Social Sciences.

Before joining Nottingham Trent University, I held academic posts as a Principal Lecturer in Politics at the University of Central Lancashire and as a Lecturer in Politics at Swansea University - where I also undertook my PhD research in Political Theory.
