Dr. Roland Burke is an Associate Professor in World History at La Trobe University. His research pursues the history of human rights, humanitarianism, and the impacts of decolonization on international organizations and norms. Recent work includes a major edited volume on the history of decolonization and rights (with Moses and Duranti, 2021), the post-Cold War refashioning of human rights, and the efforts of the apartheid regime to subvert the emerging post-war United Nations. His present research project pursues the interaction between technological change and human rights after 1945.
