Dr Rod Lamberts is an honorary associate professor in Science Communication at the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science (CPAS) at the Australian National University. He is a veteran story-teller and prolific and successful science-ish podcaster with "The Wholesome Show" (finalists at the Australian podcast awards in 2023 and 2024) which morphed into "A Little Bit of Science" in 2025. You would really, really like that podcast.
Rod is also the former deputy director of CPAS and former director of Engagement for the Australian Academy of Science.
In his nearly 30 years’ experience as a science communication practitioner, researcher, and educator he has designed and delivered some of the first university science communication courses in the world and provided science communication advice to a wide variety of private and public science-related agencies in Australia and around the globe. He is a passionate proponent of getting academia out of universities and into the world and excursuses his story-telling muscles not just across the pod-o-sphere, but also the ABC radio network and places like The Conversation.
His professional and research interests include: storytelling; science communication and public intellectualism/activism; science and ethics; perceptions of expertise in science; risk perception and communication.
