Robyn Alders is a veterinarian and an Honorary Professor with the ANU Development Policy Centre, ANU Institute for Climate, Energy and Disaster Solutions, Department of Pathobiology and Population Sciences at the Royal Veterinary College in London and Veterinary Department of Infectious Disease and Global Health, Tufts University. She is also the Lead of the OFFLU Socio-Economic Working Group. Her research and development interests include food and nutrition security/systems, One Health, gender equity, inclusive policies, and science communication. Robyn also consults to the Food and Agriculture Organization and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.

Over 200 publications including theses, scientific journal articles (including the Medical Journal of Australia, BMC Public Health, British Journal of Nutrition, Environmental Science and Policy, International Journal of Health Policy and Management), conference proceedings, technical manuals, technical reports, development publications, extension material and articles in general interest magazines.

She has received several professional and service awards including:
• the Australian Veterinary Association and the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists the Kesteven Medal in recognition of distinguished contributions to international veterinary science in the field of technical and scientific assistance to developing countries. May 2002;
• the Belle Bruce Reid Medal, awarded by the University of Melbourne to outstanding women Veterinary Scientists. November 2006;
• invested as an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to veterinary science as a researcher and educator, to the maintenance of food security in developing countries through livestock management and disease control programs. January 2011;
• the University of Sydney 2011 Alumni Award for International Achievement. May 2011;
• the Wesley Foundation 2012 Medal for an Old Collegial Foundation Member who has made an extraordinary contribution to Wesley College and or to society in their academic, professional, philanthropic, sporting or cultural lives. September 2012;
• the Crawford Fund 2014 Medal for continued contributions to international agricultural research and development. August 2014;
• the Inaugural Mitchell Global Humanitarian Award which recognises Australians and others supported by Australian aid who have made an outstanding contribution to the cause of international development – February 2017;
• the Veterinary Practitioners Board of New South Wales Centenary Award and Medal for leadership in veterinary epidemiology and One Health. June 2024.
