- Senior research fellow, University of Zurich
I am a behavioural ecologist studying the evolution of social behaviour. My research is on great ape social behaviour with a particular focus on mountain gorillas and western lowland gorillas. I use long-term data to investigate gorilla society, modelling relationships within and between gorilla groups, dispersal and movement patterns, and life history processes.
I am an Ambizione Research Fellow and Group Leader in the Department of Evolutionary Anthropology at the University of Zurich and an Affiliate Scientist at the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund‘s Karisoke Research Center in Rwanda. I completed my PhD at the University of Cambridge and conducted field work at Mbeli Bai, Nouabale-Ndoki National Park, Republic of Congo and Ngaga Research Site, Odzala National Park, Republic of Congo.
