- Associate Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of Texas at Arlington
Prof. Robin Macaluso (Ph.D., Louisiana State University) started her independent research career at University of Northern Colorado in 2006 after completing a postdoctoral fellowship in the Materials Science Division at Argonne National Laboratory. She moved her research program to University of Texas Arlington in 2015. Her research focuses on synthesis and structural characterization of solid-state materials, including highly correlated electron systems and energy conversion materials. Emphasis is placed on exploring the unique capabilities of rare-earth based intermetallics and ceramics. Prof. Macaluso’s awards include the NSF CAREER Award and the IUPAC Young Observer Fellowship. As a UTA IDEAS Faculty Fellow (http://www.uta.edu/ideas/fellows/index.php) and as an IONiC VIPEr Fellow (https://www.ionicviper.org/fellows/project), she is also actively developing instructional strategies to engage first-generation students in STEM.
