Roberta Lexier

Roberta Lexier is a Professor in the Departments of General Education and Humanities at Mount Royal University. Her research and teaching focus on social movements, social activism, and social change. She trained as a historian and has studied student movements, feminism and women’s movements, and the environmental movement. She published on Sixties student movements in English Canada and the intersections between social movements and political parties, especially the New Democratic Party (NDP). She is the co-editor of an edited collection titled Party of Conscience: The CCF, The NDP, and Social Democracy in Canada, which asserts the important contributions of left politics to Canadian political history. She recently published the book, Student Power: Canadian Student Movements From the Sixties to Today and is writing a biography of the Lewis family.
