I have a PhD in palaeobotany and a DSc in plant-climate interactions as determined from the fossil record. I have been Executive Dean of the Faculty of Sciences for more than 10 years and Director of the University of Adelaide's Environment Institute. I worked at the University of Tasmania for 20 years before returning to Adelaide in 1999.
