I am an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Auckland. My primary research interest is trade mark law.

I have written numerous articles on trade mark law, which have been published in international and New Zealand journals, including the Oxford University Commonwealth Law Journal, the Intellectual Property Quarterly, the Queen Mary Journal of Intellectual Property, the Australian Intellectual Property Journal, the New Zealand Universities Law Review and Victoria University of Wellington Law Review. My published articles have been cited in leading texts on trade mark law in New Zealand and Australia, by the New Zealand Supreme Court, the Singapore High Court and Court of Appeal, the New Zealand High Court and the New Zealand Intellectual Property Office.

I am the co-author (with Kevin Glover) of the leading text on New Zealand trade mark law — Trade Marks in Practice (5th edition), published by LexisNexis. I am also an editor of the New Zealand Intellectual Property Journal.

I teach intellectual property at an undergraduate and postgraduate level.

I am a member of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand and the International Association for the Advancement of Teaching and Research in Intellectual Property.
