Rikke Lie Halberg

I am a historian and PhD fellow at Lund University, specialising in colonial history, Atlantic entanglements, and memory politics. I have extensive experience working across academia, museums, and public institutions and have contributed to major exhibitions, educational initiatives, and research projects.

My PhD thesis centres on the Fireburn revolt on St. Croix in 1878 and examines how workers’ resistance, women’s agency, and colonial violence have been represented, obscured, and reinterpreted across Danish, Caribbean, and U.S. contexts. Through an Atlantic perspective, the project explores the long afterlives of revolt in historical narratives, institutional practices, history culture and public memory.
