Renaud Coulomb

(He)

I am engaged in research within environmental and resource economics, where I analyze how climate change mitigation strategies affect energy resource utilization as well as the market valuation of energy firms and their assets. In the realm of political economy, my work explores the benefits that political connections confer on firms and board members—often to the detriment of broader societal interests. I approach my research with a question-driven mindset, employing applied microeconomic methods or applied theory as the project demands, and integrating these approaches where appropriate.

Before joining Mines Paris – PSL University, I served as a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the University of Melbourne. I have also held positions as a Research Officer at the London School of Economics (Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment) and at Ecole Centrale Paris (CGI). I hold a PhD and a master’s degree in Economics from the Paris School of Economics, a master’s degree in International Relations from Sciences-Po Paris.
