Rebecca Willis is a DPhil student in the Vision Group, based at the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging.

She is investigating Amblyopia (also known as 'lazy eye') which is currently the most common cause of vision loss in children. It is commonly treated using Occlusion Therapy (also known as 'patching'). This treatment cures the condition for many children but is ineffective for others. Her research focuses on how the brain changes when children with a Lazy Eye receive Patching Therapy.

The KOALA study will help us to understand how Occlusion Therapy changes signals in the brain to understand how the treatment works. We hope that these findings will lead to better treatment for Amblyopia in the future.
