Dr. Rebecca Dean is an evolutionary biologist who earned her PhD in Zoology from the University of Oxford, specializing in sexual conflict, female choice, and offspring care. With a background including postdoctoral roles at Uppsala University, her research focused on pre- and post-meiotic sperm competition and female social strategies.

Her research combines sperm competition, ageing and sex chromosomes biology and is largely driven by an interest in sexual conflict. She is currently using comparative analyses to understand the benefits of mate choice for parental care.
