Dr. Ray Nickson is Deputy Head of School for Research and Research Training at the School of Law and Justice, University of Newcastle. Prior to completing a PhD at The Australian National University, Dr. Nickson was admitted as Barrister and Solicitor in the Supreme Court of South Australia and practiced in criminal law. Dr. Nickson is also a legal practitioner in NSW. Dr. Nickson's research has focused on international criminal justice and transitional justice, restorative justice, and criminal law. Beyond criminology, he teaches Sport and the Law and publishes on sports history with a focus on multiculturalism, integration and sport.
