Raquel Romar Andrés

Raquel Romar is a Veterinarian (DVM) who earned her European PhD in Physiology of Reproduction at Univ. of Murcia (Spain). She worked as a post-doc in USA, Japan, Mexico, Germany and France. Since 2011 she is an Associate Professor in the Dept. of Physiology (Univ. of Murcia) and her teaching areas are Veterinary Physiology (DVM) and Biology and Technology of Reproduction in Mammals (MSc. program). Her research is focused on the mechanisms for controlling polyspermy in mammals, with special interest on the cortical and zona reaction; the use of reproductive fluids to minimize the impact of ART on animal health and, recently, the development of 3D models to study the molecular mechanisms on gamete interaction.
