Randall is a radio astronomer with a background in computer science and electrical engineering. As a scientist with a technical background, Randall bridges the gap between the science and engineering communities and works on novel ways to use radio telescope instrumentation. He has broad astrophysical interests ranging from dark matter through to the birth of the first stars and galaxies. He has technical expertise in radio telescope design, digital signal processing, high performance computing and radio engineering and has designed, commissioned and generated science from several radio telescope instruments and arrays. In 2024, Randall joined the SKAO as SKA-Low Senior Commissioning Scientist.
