Dr Rakib Ehsan is a Research Fellow at Henry Jackson Society (Centre on Radicalisation & Terrorism).
His PhD thesis, which was funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), investigated how patterns of social relations and intergroup contact are related to generalised social trust and democratic satisfaction among British ethnic minorities. The thesis was examined by Prof. Shamit Saggar and Prof. Eric Kaufmann.
His research interests include young people's politics, integration issues in Germany, the political rise of Donald Trump and the attitudinal drivers behind Brexit. He has had material published by The Independent, Newsweek and a number of English-language Indian media outlets such as Scroll.
Professionally, he has worked as a University Seminar Tutor, with a property & development communications consultancy, a criminal justice charity and independent think-tank Intergenerational Foundation. He is also currently working as a research consultant to the Greater London Authority.
