Peter Zámborský

Dr Peter Zamborsky is the International Business Disciplinary Area Lead in the Department of Management and International Business at the University of Auckland Business School in New Zealand. Before his job at the University of Auckland, Peter was an instructor at Harvard University and a lecturer at Brandeis University in Boston, where he earned his doctorate. He earned his Master of Science degree from the London School of Economics. Before joining the academia, Peter worked for The Economist Group (a publisher of The Economist magazine) in London and Europe.

Dr Zamborsky has published over 25 articles in respected scholarly and practitioner-oriented journals, such as Academy of Management Perspectives, California Management Review, International Business Review, Strategic Organization, and Technovation. He serves on editorial boards of several journals (e.g., Asia Pacific Journal of Management). His research focuses on firms' internationalization strategies, foreign direct investment, and international innovation management, with particular expertise in capability-based perspectives and emerging markets. Peter co-authored Contemporary International Business in the Asia-Pacific Region (Cambridge University Press, 2019) and over 10 book chapters and cases with eminent publishers (e.g., Cambridge University Press, SAGE, Springer and Routledge).

Dr Zamborsky's scholarly work was recognized by prominent journals and conferences. For example, his co-authored paper was the first runner-up in the "Best Paper published in International Business Review 2023" award, sponsored by the European International Business Academy and announced at EIBA Annual Conference in 2024. He also won the "Best Reviewer for International Business Review in 2024" award, “Most Inspiring and Thoughtful Reviewer" award at the 2022 Academy of International Business Oceania Chapter Research Symposium, and the "Global Strategy Interest Group's Best Reviewer" award at the Strategic Management Society Annual Conferences in 2021 and 2020.
