After teaching in England, the United States, and Australia, Peter Singer became the Ira W. DeCamp Professor of Bioethics in the University Center for Human Values at Princeton University.
He is also a Laureate Professor at the University of Melbourne and spends part of each year writing and researching in his home town.
His research interests include ethics (bioethics; animal ethics; global ethics; environmental ethics), applied ethics, world poverty and climate change.
He has published numerous books, including The Life You Can Save (2009), The Most Good You Can Do (2015) and Ethics in the Real World (2016). He became well known internationally after the publication of Animal Liberation in 1975.
