Peter Psaltis

Peter joined SAHMRI at the beginning of 2015 as Co-director of the Vascular Research Centre in the Heart Health Theme. He is an Academic Cardiologist, who has trained overseas (Mayo Clinic, MN, USA) and interstate (Melbourne) in basic science, preclinical and clinical research, as well as in clinical interventional cardiology. His bench-to-bedside research interests focus on the developmental origins of macrophages in healthy and diseased vasculature and the applications of stem and progenitor cells in cardiovascular therapeutics. Peter holds grant and fellowship funding from both the NHMRC and National Heart Foundation of Australia.
