I research the social and cultural geography of East Asia and the Asia-Pacific, focusing on Japan and South Korea. I research, teach, and write about demography, environment, employment, and organizational behaviour in these regions, particularly in relation to the outcomes of depopulation for environmental and human systems. Does human depopulation result in environmental restoration? How does labour force contraction impact on organizations? These are some of the questions my research seeks answers to.
