- PhD Candidate, Medical Sciences, McMaster University
I’m a PhD candidate in Medical Sciences at McMaster University, working out of the Thrombosis and Atherosclerosis Research Institute. My research focuses on ADAMTS13, an enzyme that plays a crucial role in the early stages of blood clotting. I’m interested in how its structure and function are regulated, and how this knowledge can be used to improve treatment for thrombotic conditions. Before coming to McMaster, I completed an Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto with a double major in Immunology and Human Biology: Health & Disease, and a minor in Italian Studies. I’ve worked as a teaching assistant and served as a student mentor, while remaining involved in academic and scientific communities through presentations, publications, and outreach.
