Pere Suau-Sanchez

Pere Suau-Sanchez is a Full Professor in the Faculty of Economics and Business at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and a Senior Lecturer in Air Transport Management at Cranfield University (UK). He holds a PhD in Economic Geography from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2011) and an MA in Urban Management from Erasmus University Rotterdam (2005). He was a visiting researcher at SEO Economic Research (University of Amsterdam) between 2008 and 2010 and served as graduate faculty at Central Washington University from 2022 to 2023.

With a multidisciplinary perspective on aviation, his research spans airport and airline strategy, aviation sustainability, diversity in aviation, and digital transformation. He has been involved in numerous R&D projects across Spain, the UK, and Norway, including a three-year Research Council of Norway project examining the impact of digitalisation in airports.

A regular speaker at academic and industry conferences, he also frequently contributes to major media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, CNN, BBC, Forbes, Cadena SER, La Sexta, and La Vanguardia, among others.
