Peninah Kansiime

Peninah Kansiime is social work academic and practitioner in the School of Arts and Humanities at Edith Cowan University in Australia. Her PhD research focused on social workers working with male survivors of conflict-related sexual violence. Until 2016, she practiced Social Work in Uganda as the National Coordinator of the National Association of Social Workers in Uganda and later as a Sexual and Gender Based Violence/Prevention Officer with the Refugee Law Project. It is during this role that she encountered victims and survivors of conflict-related sexual violence, including men. Peninah also has practice experience in Sweden and Australia.
