Pedro é professor associado de ciência política na College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University (EUA) e Fulbright Dinstinguished Scholar (2022-2023), filiado à Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG).
Ele tem duas áreas principais de pesquisa na política brasileira: a representação feminina no legislativo e no executivo e a ascensão dos políticos evangélicos no país. Publicou vários capítulos de livros, bem como artigos em revistas especializadas, como Latin American Politics and Society, Politics & Gender e Teorija in Praksa. Atualmente, está trabalhando em um projeto de livro em coautoria que examina o impacto da presidência de Dilma Rousseff, a primeira mulher presidente do Brasil, na representação e no empoderamento das mulheres no país.

Pedro is an associate professor of political science at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University (USA) and a Fulbright Distinguished Scholar (2022-2023), affiliated with the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG).
He has two main areas of research in Brazilian politics: female representation in the legislative and executive branches and the rise of evangelical politicians in the country. He has published several book chapters, as well as articles in specialised journals such as Latin American Politics and Society, Politics & Gender, and Teorija in Praksa. He is currently working on a co-authored book project that examines the impact of the presidency of Dilma Rousseff, Brazil's first female president, on the representation and empowerment of women in the country.
