Paula Fernandes

Senior Researcher at CIRAD (France), research unit “Designing horticultural systems for a better life in sustainable ecosystems”, based at thr French Embassy in Havana, Cuba since March 2025. Previously researcher in LMI IESOL in Dakar, Senegal from 2026 to 2023. Before that based in PRAM/CAEC Martinique, working on conception of agroecologically based vegetable systems, management of soil fertility and diseases between 2006 and 2016. Previously
Junior researcher at IAC New Calédonia between 2003 and 2005.
1999: PhD in Agronomical Sciences at INPL, Nancy, France. Soil fertility and biological functions in Sahelian area (Sénégal) with CIRAD/ISRA partnership. CIRAD permanent agent since 2003.
