Paul Hudson is a physical geographer and hydrologist at Leiden University College - Program in Earth, Energy, and Sustainability in the Netherlands. He studies flooding by integrating field-based measurements of sedimentation and erosion with satellite imagery, combined with large hydrologic data sets from government agencies. He primarily works on Dutch rivers, as well as the lower Mississippi in Louisiana. His monograph on the topic entitled “Flooding and Management of Large Fluvial Lowlands: A Global Environmental Perspective”, was published by Cambridge University Press (2021).
