Paul Hetherington is a distinguished Australian poet and Emeritus Professor of Writing at the University of Canberra. His most recent book is Sleeplessness (Pierian Springs Press, 2023) which won the inaugural The Marion Halligan Award in the MARION ACT Literary Awards. He also won the 2021 Bruce Dawe National Poetry Prize. He founded International Poetry Studies in the Centre for Creative and Cultural Research at the University of Canberra in 2013 and founded the international Prose Poetry Project in 2014. With Cassandra Atherton he co-authored the groundbreaking Prose Poetry: An Introduction (Princeton University Press, 2020) and co-edited the Anthology of Australian Prose Poetry (Melbourne University Press, 2020).
