Paul Jose received his PhD in developmental psychology from Yale University in 1980, and since then has taught and conducted research in social developmental psychology at Loyola University Chicago and Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. He has published papers in prominent journals in personality, social, developmental, and cross-cultural psychology chiefly on the topic of how adolescents and adults use emotion regulation strategies (e.g., rumination, striving for happiness). In addition, his published work includes papers and a book (Doing statistical mediation and moderation (Guilford Press, 2013)) on statistical and methodological topics. Previously an associate editor of the journal Developmental Psychology, he is currently an associate editor of the journal Psychological Science.
